Russ is a Managing Director of The Berkshires Capital Investors where he is responsible for the day-to-day management of the BCI funds, the evaluation of new investment opportunities, and working with portfolio companies.

Prior to joining BCI, Russ was a Senior Vice President in the Technology and Communications Group at GE Equity, the venture capital arm of GE Capital. During his six-year tenure with GE Equity, Russ was involved with numerous investments including CyberSource (CYBS), CommerceOne (CMRC), OpenSite (acquired by Siebel Systems), Ironside, Acuity (acquired by Quintus), Corparacion Del Fuerte and Launch Media. Russ worked for Equitable Capital Management in New York City from 1990-1994 as a Senior Investment Manager and for The Futures Group, a management consulting company in Glastonbury, CT from 1984-1988.

Russ holds an M.B.A. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Economics from Williams College.

He has served on the board of directors of numerous companies and been a frequent speaker and panelist at venture capital conferences.
